Pamela Nicole Dukes
Pamela Nicole Dukes is the founder of Awakening Aspiration, a revolutionary consulting firm that uses proven techniques to establish, build, and preserve healthy interactions. Pamela teaches her clients how to break through their personal roadblocks so that they can do the work that matters most.
Her clients include; UCAN Chicago, where she was awarded for her work in youth development, and Ada S. McKinley Community Services, one of Chicago's longest standing human services organizations. There, she uses her expertise to teach social service managers how to lead with perspective and guide with heart.
Pamela has been featured on thinkBIGradio.com as well as 106.3 FM in Chicago. She is a highly sought after speaker and facilitator for women’s empowerment and youth events. Her candid approach to sharing her story has captivated audiences across the windy city and beyond.
Born and grown in Englewood, one of Chicago’s most distressed communities, Pamela has overcome traumatic circumstances time and again, earning her the title of “serial survivor”. She’s chronicled her early life struggles with poverty, violence and teenage pregnancy in her 2017 book, The Hood’s Daughter. The book has earned a five star rating, and readers await the release of her second manuscript, which she is currently developing.
Pamela’s “aha! moment” came to her after years of suffering through emotional turmoil and missed opportunities. She reflects, “I remember being a child, and closing my eyes one night to go to sleep. When I woke up, it was 30 years later. And I was angry.” That moment of realization inspired her not only to nurture herself, but to become more aware of her emotional wellness and how it impacts her life choices. Today, she is dedicated to helping others heal from emotional injury. In 2016, she launched Awakening Aspiration to meet that goal.
In addition to being an entrepreneur, Pamela has served the developmentally disabled and senior populations for over a decade. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Services and is certified in Life, Solutions Focused, and Master Emotional Wellness Coaching. And she’s currently pursuing a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the Adler School of Professional Psychology.
For Pamela though, degrees and job titles don’t equal success. They are simply meant to translate her lived experiences into impactful lessons. Her vision of success includes a world where we use our words to sow seeds of greatness and triumph within each other. Her true mission is to rescue and heal the broken spirits of the forgotten. She is all ears, all heart and all in for the journey.
